The Thomas L. Damato Music and Scholarship Facilitation Fund at Hernando High School (HHS) was established in 2018 after the passing of Mr. Thomas Damato. Mr. Damato was the band director for several years at HHS, spanning from 1996-2005. After he passed away, his students started the fund in order to support current band students at Hernando High School in his memory. The fund seeks to support students’ participation in band by assisting with the financial costs of participating in band (i.e. band fees, costs of supplies), furthering their craft (i.e. defraying cost of band camp, Festival of Winds, Tri-State Band Festival), or pursuing a college education in teaching or fine arts (i.e. college scholarship). Our organization is run entirely on the donated time of Mr. Damato’s former students, through donations and fundraising.
